How does it work and what can you ride?

There will be 4 surfers per team. Each heat will go for one hour duration. There will likely be two semi finals and one final. During each heat every surfer can catch as many waves as they want, with the top two waves of every surfer counting towards the overall score. The last surfer needs to have crossed the line before the buzzer sounds to receive bonus points.

If you have four surfers please enter your full team. If you are an individual or only have 2-3 surfers we encourage you to still enter and we will put you in a team.

You can ride any craft you want - shortboard, middy, longboard, SUP, kneeboard, bodyboard, handplane, finless etc etc.

*Depending on conditions if there are lots of waves heat time may be reduced.

What will be scored?

The judges LOVE good surfing and will reward surfers who show speed, power and flow on their chosen craft. The degree of difficulty and variety of progressive and difficult maneuvers will also be taken into account. Because this is not a ‘typical’ surf competition we will also be offering bonus points using novelty criteria. This criteria could include things like ‘best wipe out’, ‘commitment to the curl’, ‘biggest frother’‘best dance move on a wave’ etc. Judges will adjust the judging criteria to your craft of choice.
